Club Biotech is an organization (registered society) of highly motivated, young students in the life sciences (biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, medical science, bioinformatics, etc.). Our major focus is to provide a platform for students and professionals from these various fields. This is achieved by organizing public lectures, school workshops, field trips to R&D-driven companies and informal meetings. During these events we want to address the hot topics in the respective field and support students in the life sciences.
We already hosted lectures by highly regarded scientists such as the Nobel Laureates Prof. Susumu Tonegawa and Prof. Werner Arber as well as Prof. Carl Djerassi, Prof. Robert Gallo and Prof. Josef Penninger.
Club Biotech sees itself as an interdisciplinary, interuniversitary and independent organization. It was founded at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna and is currently seated at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
